Do FSBOs Save Money?
Let’s chat about a more delicate matter. For Sale By Owner.
I know why it sounds tempting, I get it. You want to walk away with the most amount of money in your pocket as possible. Makes TOTAL SENSE.
But is that what happens when someone chooses to list their home as a FSBO? Generally speaking, no, it is not.
What typically ends up happening is that you discount the listing price of your home by at least 6% (which is the equivalent to what you'd pay a listing broker).
The National Association of Realtors reports that people who sell their own homes typically receive 10-20 percent less than those who list with Realtors, mainly because many sellers don’t have the skills to negotiate the best contract.
This means that you’re making less than the amount of money as you would when listing with a Realtor, but you’re doing all the work of selling your home yourself.
Consider meeting with an agent and using their expertise to walk away with the most money in your pocket as possible. My team is ready, are you?
